Creamy Potato & Hamburger Soup Recipe


  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 3 carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup corn kernels (fresh, frozen, or canned)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


  1. Brown Ground Beef:
    • In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Saute Onions and Garlic:
    • Add diced onions and minced garlic to the pot. Saute until the onions are translucent.
  3. Add Vegetables:
    • Add diced potatoes, sliced carrots, and chopped celery to the pot. Stir to combine.

    • Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Remove the bay leaf.
